This stunning Kenmore Hills garden seamlessly integrates the renovated house with its leafy setting. Working in collaboration with the architects, who extensively remodelled the house in 2015 using a palette of natural materials such as stone, glass and timber, Define have unified the site and brought the established layered vegetation from outside in. Key tasks included selectively removing tired and overgrown plants, salvaging others and re-shaping the terracing down to the creek. Opening up the new backyard living spaces on both levels has created sublime glimpses of the creek line and broad vistas of the riparian habitat, blended in with its new palette of sculptural, colourful sub-tropical plantings and the soothing sounds of the cascading water feature. The deep green tones of the massed entry plantings against the bold stone walls have re-invigorated its street appeal, whilst the numerous planting themes, the fruit tree grove and the herb & veggie patches are eclectically woven under the holistic feel of ‘lush, leafy and layered’.
